Abstract

To enhance students understanding of difficult subjects, instructors use various models that explain how individual elements are interconnected and operate together. In the case of cell structure, visual aids like diagrams and animations are commonly applied to support the formation of clear and detailed mental images. These tools also promote active participation, helping students to be more immersed in the subject (Huber & Moore, 2001; Kolchin et al., 2022). The use of physical tools such as clay molecule models or representations on atom paper during chemistry instruction improves the student’s understanding by involving them in active learning based on movement instead of passive reading only (Hofstein & Lunetta 2004).
