Abstract

The Introduction section is a fundamental component of academic articles written in the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). It establishes the background of the study, identifies the research problem, reviews relevant literature, and presents the purpose and significance of the investigation. A well-written introduction helps readers understand the context of the research and justifies why the study is necessary. However, many novice researchers experience difficulties in organizing ideas logically, synthesizing literature, and formulating clear research objectives. This article examines the structure, functions, and writing strategies of Introduction sections in IMRAD-based scholarly articles. The study also discusses common mistakes in introduction writing and provides practical recommendations for producing coherent, analytical, and academically persuasive introductions.
