The rapid expansion of the digital economy has fundamentally transformed the landscape of macroeconomic governance. Traditional instruments of monetary and fiscal policy, designed for analog-era economies, are being challenged by the rise of digital currencies, algorithmic finance, platform-driven markets, and cross-border e-commerce. This thesis examines the principal threats and opportunities that digital transformation poses for macroeconomic stability, with particular focus on inflation dynamics, fiscal sustainability, labor market equilibrium, financial sector resilience, and exchange rate management. Drawing on comparative evidence from developed and emerging economies, including the Central Asian context with emphasis on Uzbekistan, the study argues that ensuring macroeconomic stability in the digital age requires an integrated policy framework that combines adaptive regulation, data-driven policy tools, and international cooperation. The findings suggest that countries with proactive digital governance architectures demonstrate significantly higher resilience to digital-economy-induced macroeconomic shocks.
