Abstract

This article examines the main criteria for the comparative study of economic terms in Uzbek and English. The research highlights the principles of selecting economic terms, determining their terminological status, revealing their semantic features, and comparing them with their English equivalents. In identifying the correspondence of economic terms, the terminological concept, lexical definition, structural model, and functional role are considered the main units of analysis. The study analyzes Uzbek economic terms and their English equivalents in terms of semantic scope, conceptual content, and functional usage. The results demonstrate that some economic terms have complete equivalence, while others require the use of several translation variants due to contextual and institutional factors. The research emphasizes that conceptual and functional correspondence should be prioritized over formal similarity in the translation of economic terminology.
